WHAT'S HAPPENING?
I just keep putting the songs and thoughts out there. It seemed like a pretty good way to promote the songs. But, not always I guess.

100 years Veterans day.
Reviewing some family artifacts brought me to this old newspaper from 1918.
The Lake Geneva News, November 28, 1918
We are coming up on Veteran's day/Armistice Day/ Remembrance Day, depending on where you live. U.S., Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand. The BBC broadcasters are all wearing the poppy on their lapels. Poppies are worn and poppy wreaths are laid in memorium. Our American Legion give the poppies and referance the WWI poem "In Flander's Fields."I never knew my uncle Pliny. It seems that we were two generations apart. But I have some family artifacts and papers that cause me to remember and I feel it is so timely to share this article now from a century ago and the end of WWI. The pictures are from the newspaper and I have tried to place them in order. God Bless all who serve. We thank you.

All over the place
Hey everyone, I know that many of you are aware of the thoughts and music that I post here and on YouTube. I do have another place where I enjoy posting some other thoughts and music. In the What's Happening blog, (this blog) I have written about and place the original music I have written and sung. Another blog, Keep on Keepin on, is a place where I like to post other music.
If you have any interest in the other stuff, you can find it in these different locations.

With YouTube, do a search for john w. blodgett, or orrinson1. That will bring up most of the songs I have posted on these blogs.

I hope you enjoy all of the music and fun that I have been working on the last few years.

Response
I don't receive a lot of response on this blog. Even though I can see that it is visited by people from around the world. It always makes me wonder what those people think of it. And I think, "is there a response?" It helps me understand how God sees us sometimes. A term we hear used after an accident, when checking the person they might say, "he or she was unresponsive". I fear we are too unresponsive in our walk on this earth under Heaven. I do believe the main reason for our existence on this earth is go glorify God. After all that I have gone through in the last couple of years, I have to be thankful each morning for the new day. God has been so good to me and the more I lean on him and trust him the easier it is to trust him. But, it is also easy when things are going well, to take him for granted. I don't want to take him for granted and find myself wondering why things are not going well. So, I find it easier to enjoy as I read in Ephesians 5:19 "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord." All day long. It helps me respond to my Savior. Then Psalm 95:2, Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
Isaiah 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

"Lead Them Home"
This has been a lot of fun. This song, I think is the thirteenth gospel song that I have published on the blog. In the blog year 2015 you will find 53 original songs penned by myself or my son Jason. All with the grace of God and some with the assistance of the holy spirit. The song "Lead Them Home" was written in the early 1970s and inspired by the word of God, usually the King James Version.
If for no other reason but to lift my spirits and sing God's praise.
If you should wonder about the verse that says to keep them under his blood, the bible says in 1st John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. In Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.

THEM HOME"

John Blodgett
There are brothers and sisters lost in
the darkness.
Reach out and take them by the hand.
Reach out in spirit, let Jesus guide us.
Lead them into life through forgiveness
of sin.
(Refrain)
Lead them home, home, home to Jesus
That's his own wonderful plan
Win a soul, a soul, a soul for Jesus
Through his holy word into that heavenly
land.
Close friends and neighbors, all who
will listen
Tell them of the love and the mercy of
God
Relatives and friends. All who will
listen
Lead them back to life, keep them under
his blood
(Refrain)
Lead them home, home, home to Jesus
That's his own wonderful plan
Win a soul, a soul, a soul for Jesus
Through his holy word into that heavenly
land.
The kingdom draws nearer, it's time for
the harvest
draw back and let his sickle swing
Have faith and fear not, nothing can
harm us
Prepare for the coming of the king.
(Refrain)
Lead them home, home, home to Jesus
That's his own wonderful plan
Win a soul, a soul, a soul for Jesus
Through his holy word into that heavenly
land.

Here's 52. "you've got me dreamin," I will get back to #50 later. I know you will like this one.
"You've
got me dreamin"

1994
Johnny Blodgett Composer
You've
got me dreamin, you've got me schemin,
You
don't know baby what you do to me.
You've
got me lyin, you've got me tryin,
For
love that wasn't meant to be.
I
want to touch you, want very much to,
Feel
your body close to mine.
If
only I knew, If I could tell you,
I
want you with me all the time.
There
was a time when another woman,
could
never make me turn my head,
But
somethin snaps when I hear you talkin,
I
only wonder what's ahead
The
voice that thrills me, those eyes that fill me,
With
dreams of heaven in your touch,
This
feeling so strong, can it be so wrong,
I
want your love so very much.
I've
lost control now, you've got to know how,
My
heart is burning to call out your name.
My
heart is beating, my mind repeating,
The
words you're saying, you feel the same.
The
pain is done now, our souls are one now,
Your
trembling lips are pressed to mine.
My
arms enfold you, forever hold you.
Your
heart is mine till the end of time.
