Can't believe I didn't post pictures on here of The Santa Monica Pier and the Pacific Coast Highway.
Spent a couple of days with a friend in Palm Springs. I would have to call the road over to Palm Springs the wind generator capital of the world. Thousands of them as I traveled to Bob Hope Drive.

My friend Susan, who I have known since I was about 16 and who is a mutual friend with my classmate Christie, was gracious enough to show me the sights around Santa Monica and up the highway. We passed through San Bernardino on old Route 66 and picked up a few shots of the old road.

I tried to do this earlier and lost it all because it didn't want to post a video. I will try it again. I realized that I didn't have much on here about my time in Palm Springs and Santa Monica so here are some photos and videos.

All this travel and I didn't go to Vegas! Wonder why?
I think all these casinos and gambling are a blight on our landscape.
All the neon and glitz really puts a giant smudge on an otherwise beautiful picture.

All across the states in a separate room at a convenience store, as a side room to a restaurant or as a giant Colosseum with a race track and arena. I find it so sad. I remember visiting Central City in Colorado a few years ago. Actually it was 1987 and my first visit to the Ryer Carpenter Ranch. It was such an interesting and fun place. Quaint, with a main street of special shops and stores, a neat bar and restaurant where there was live music. Now, neon signs and gambling plastered all over. It doesn't make me want to go there. Darn, I just think it's sad.

Carolyn Ryer and Carol Carpenter have such a beautiful location, just East of the Rockies. 

You can watch the sunset every day behind the Rockies. If a person has any imagination at all, I am sure you can picture it. Thank goodness I didn't see any geese. Guess that's because of Red. Big beautiful old Setter mix. Sure enjoyed my stay with these folks. I pray the blessings on this place will continue. 

And, I thank God I could be there for just a little while.

What an amazing journey. I am so glad I am able to share this trip with all my friends and family. It is as though you were with my on this trip. Knowing that you were keeping track and checking in, made it so easy as I went along, thinking about different ones who would enjoy this sight or that. I have never been much of a photographer, but I guess with the right camera, the right time and the most amazing subject matter, how can you go wrong. I drove the last thousand miles from Colorado and arrived home in good order at 3:00 A.M. this morning. Beautiful little Malibu was able to give me 30.2 mpg average for 7,400 miles. I was able to visit some wonderful family and friends along the way and the whole trip has brightened my already optimistic outlook on life. Seize the day. Gather ye rosebuds. Don't let the door hit ah, er, no no not that one.

ENJOY - THE MOOSE -

This has been an amazing trip and I have seen a lot of beautiful countryside. It is exciting for me as I travel through each state to see the changes in the landscapes. There may be mountains, but each range looks so unique.
