Another day in the land of fruits and nuts. I now more fully understand this phrase, as I drive past mile after mile of fruit trees, grape vines and almond trees. I drove by a beautiful corn field yesterday. So many of the crops I see out here are irrigated, so their production is full. I have been on the road for two weeks and only had rain one night, that was up in Albany, Oregon. So very dry all over. It was evident also up in Yosemite as the rivers are way down and the falls are not so dynamic. I am sure that it's a much different picture in the spring.
This may be the last posting for a couple of days, as I plan to just spend some time with some friends out here. I will be back to share some more once I start my Route 66 journey from 7th Street and Broadway. That was the original starting point. I was later extended to Santa Monica Pier.
Here is a little bit of my journey yesterday 9/27/2012.

These pics will have to post another day. The connection at this hotel is very slow.

Logging is big business out here.

What an amazing journey this is and I am not even half way yet. Yesterday was an amazing day with a couple of 70+ year old guys keeping up with the young people. Well, almost keeping up if you don't count Matt, Gracie and Brayden. Sure was picturesque at Silver Falls State Park. We walked the short version. That would be about two and a half miles. Going down wasn't bad, coming up was a test....Thank you Jesus, we passed that one. Hopefully the blog editor will place above the falls picture first. Really got lucky with this shot.

This shot was just above the falls. Lucky shot and one of my favorites.

Some of the more beautiful sights along the path.
Matt, Gracie, Lincoln, Elias, Becca and Kinsey

this shot as we started down the path.
 Looking back upstream.
After we climbed down and under, from the right side.
This rotting stump, probably from way back, was about eight feet across.
a short breather on the way back up.
 We Karate chopped this log.
This is the lower falls.

This is like running a small newspaper. Aunt Esther would be proud. Glad you are all enjoying the pictures. Today we visited the Corvallis Fair.http://corvallisfallfestival.org/
Then we went to Blodgett, Oregon with Brayden. I had a ball. What a fun thing to see.
I also found some other information on The Blodgett Cemetary there.
A lot of history and just fun.
