Who Put Out The Flame

Song #22

So many things are incorporated in a song. This one was written from the heart. It covers things that I have experienced and learned from. I'm sure many of you can relate.
Just a pretty melody and powerful lyrics.

"Who Put Out The Flame"
words and music by John Blodgett
copyright 1994

Have I done something wrong you're not telling me of,
Is it something I've said that's cost me your love,
You don't hear the words I say, you're a million miles away
And I wonder who's put out the flame

I wonder who's put out the flame,
The love that we shared is not the same,
I know something's wrong and I don't know who's to blame.
And I wonder who's put out the flame.

You still come home at night the way you've always done,
And you still smile and say that I'm your only one.
But, I can see by your eyes you've been telling me lies
alternate - (but the tears in your eyes late at night when you cry)
And I wonder who's put out the flame.

I wonder who's put out the flame,
The love that we shared is not the same,
I know something's wrong and I don't know who's to blame.
And I wonder who's put out the flame.

I know something's wrong and I don't know who's to blame.
And I wonder who's put out the flame.

Flame still glows

Song #21 for 2015

"While The Flame In Me Still Glows"

Song number 21, While the Flame still glows is not my best work. I could have used a real guitar picker to play this for me. It does make a statement though. Just want to keep on keepin on. One day at a time. I thank Jesus every morning for the new day. I am able to get up and get going and get the music out there. THESE SONGS ARE FOR SALE, just in case you didn't know.
My friend Claudia has a blog out there and was talking about her bucket list. http://claudssixtyfifthyear.blogspot.com/2015/06/do-you-have-bucket-list.html
This would be on my bucket list. I have been working to sell these songs for 50 years. I do believe in God's time, I think it just has to be seen and heard by the right person.

I can't stand it anymore
pack me up, I'm out the door.
 Before I get too old
before the fire in me grows cold
I'll hit the road to were it goes
While the flame in me still glows.

So many things I wanna see
A lot of want to left in me
Too many dreams I can't let go
While the flame in me still glows.

Some folks say my screws are loose,
ain't got the brains God gave a goose.
well you just keep your status quo
If I don't try, I'll never know
If I don't try, I'll never know

Too many things I wanna see
A lot of want to left in me
Too many dreams I can't let go
While the flame in me still glows.

Too many things I wanna see
A lot of want to left in me
Too many dreams I can't let go
While the flame in me still glows.

So many things I wanna see
A lot of want to left in me
Too many dreams I can't let go
While the flame in me still glows.

A Vagabond Heart.WMV

Song Number 20.

                                       "VAGABOND HEART"
                 ©1994 John Blodgett
                    Johnny Blodgett Composer

Beautiful lady, your eyes are enchanting,
It would be easy to fall for your charms,
and dear, I know if I let myself falter,
I'd lose my heart in the warmth of your arms.

                          (Chorus)
Don't fall in love with a vagabond heart,
I'm just a gypsy - you knew from the start.
Don't love me today for tomorrow we'll part.
Don't fall in love with a vagabond heart.

You know your eyes don't conceal what you're feeling,
Your heart is looking to me for romance,
and yes it's true, I do find you appealing,
but this is something that hasn't a chance.

                          (Chorus)

Listen to all that I'm saying,
There's a gypsy in me that won't die.
There's no way dear that I can be staying.
To say you love me, is saying goodbye.

                         (Chorus)

Trying to pitch some songs down on music row in the early 90s. Had a few optimistic interviews but nothing ever came of it. That whole scene has changed a lot from then to now. I wouldn't know where to begin. Oh well, I thought I did but this ain't working either. But I know there are a few friends out there who want to hear these songs, so I will continue to put them up here.
I wrote this for a lady who I thought had agreed that we could just be friends and no more. Guess you can't hardly get them no more.

                   Romans 10:11, Mark 16:16,  John 3:16

words and music by John Blodgett

It was all in the plan, since creation of man,

to save any soul who believes,

Blessings number like sand from the masters own hand,

From the sin of the world a reprieve.

From his thrown high above, he has poured out his love,

The virgin gave birth to his son.

On a pillow of hay in a stable he lay,

Humble birth for the father's only son.

Kings and queens praise his name, to this day it's the same,

More than two thousand years from his birth.

Hallelujah he lives, by his love he forgives,

Anyone who believes he walked the earth.

Jesus Christ saved my soul, Jesus Christ made me whole,

From the manger and forever more.

He is yours he is mine, his light forever shines,

In his love, he has opened the door.

(Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.)

If in sin you are caught, by his blood you are bought,

He is waiting for you to call him in,

He is standing outside, his grace will turn the tide,

By his blood every battle you'll win.

Feel his love warm your soul, it is real let it flow,

He's giving you life, let it be.

Raise your hands let him in, let him wash out the sin.

You're forgiven by Christ the Nazarene..

Raise your hands let him in, let him wash out the sin.

You're forgiven by Christ the Nazarene..

     "I'm Falling "
Johnny Blood Composer
Copyright 1996

I'm doing all I can to keep the conversation light,
Hiding all my feelings to keep them out of sight.
But, when I look in your green eyes, I wonder can you see.
Can you see these feelings that have taken hold of me.

(refrain)      I'm Falling, hopefully in love with you.
Wondering if it could be true,
Could you feel the way I do.
I'm falling, hopefully in love with you.
Don't know what I'm gonna do,
Hope you feel the same way too.

It seems as though I've known you from some other place and time.
You look at me as though you know every thought that's in my mind.
Have I lost my mind, could I be thinking you could be,
More than just a friend, oh sweetheart can't you see.....

(refrain)

#16 "Big Ole Star" and #17. One a week for 2015.

This blog helps me understand how God feels when he lays out all his wonders and gifts and we just slide along take for granted and hardly take notice. I thank God for his love, for the friends and family he has given me. I want to remember always to respond to him. In every way that he makes himself known to me. Sometimes that is just through you. When you view this blog or see what I am trying to share, it matters so much.
Anyway, I have promised one song a week for 2015 so I will catch up today. If you are a subscriber you will see it, otherwise it will just be out there.
I am a week behind, so posting #16 and 17.

This is #16 and hope you enjoy "Big Ole Star".
#17 is "Thy Will Be My Way".

"I WANNA BE A BIG OLE STAR"
                                                                                 Copyr. 1994
                                                                                      Johnny Blodgett.

I'm not askin a lot,
Just to use the talent I got,
before they measure my plot,
I wanna be a big ole star.

(refrain)     I wanna be a big ole star,
I know I could go far.
Me and my old guitar,
I wanna be a big ole star.

I sent a tape off today,
for the publishing company to play.
I'm sure they won't turn me away,
I wanna be a big ole star.

                   (refrain)

I'm gonna be right at the top,
cause I'm the pick of the crop,
next to me "Garth" is a flop,
I'm gonna be a big ole star.

                   (refrain)

I'll buy a big house in nashville.
Pappy can close down the still,
The dream of my life I'll fullfill.
I'm gonna be a big ole star.

Thy Will Be My Way
©1994 John Blodgett

Psalm 143:10
Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

I've made my choice, I'll follow Jesus,
I'll turn away from worldly sin,
He offers more, yes so much more.
He holds the key to heaven's door.

I pray that thy will will be my way,
all through life's journey from day to day.
And Lord I know when my journey's through,
I'll stand in heaven and look face to face with you.

His precious word will lead me home,
and keep me safe until he comes,
his Holy spirit will teach me well.
I'll never fear the fires of hell.

I pray that thy will will be my way,
all through life's journey from day to day.
And Lord I pray when my journey's through,
I'll stand in heaven and look face to face with you.

It's not for me to know the hour,
when he will come in heaven's power,
but keep the watch and overcome,
this is my charge from God the Son.

I pray that thy will will be my way,
all through life's journey from day to day.
And Lord I pray when my journey's through,
I'll stand in heaven and look face to face with you.

"I THREW IT ALL AWAY'

I THREW IT ALL AWAY....
This will be number 15 for week fifteen this year. A yodel song and something different. A number of years ago my friend Joe Higgins and I went downtown to visit with Jan Coleman on her WGN late night program. We had some fun. Joe added the back up playing for this song with some sweet pickin and great accompaniment. Jan was such a dear to have us on there. She is still on radio I think. WBBM if I am not mistaken.
Anyway, we had fun and I hope you enjoy my number 15 of 52 for 2015.

        "I threw it all away"
                                                        Copyr. 1994
                                                           John Blodgett composer

I never dreamed I'd find a love quite so fair,
Ribbons in her hair, sunshine everywhere.
She was all a man could cherish and adore,
Still I wanted more, she walked right out the door.

(Yodel)

She left me here alone, and now I sit and cry,
Oh Lord why did I lie? I didn't even try,
She's gone and all I do is sit along and pine,
for love that once was mine, I'm sure I'll lose my mind.

(Yodel)

The world and all it's gold were mine yesterday,
I threw it all away, a cheatin game to play.
And now the gold is gone and I am to blame,
I'll live my life in shame, I'll never smile again.
